How do I join communities?

Use search or the communities tab to find spaces by topic. Before joining, read the description, the rules and the community guide. Once you join, you can read, post, comment and offer support whenever you feel comfortable. There are no public like counts or rankings: the goal is support, not competition. Some communities set requirements for posting, such as using labels or other criteria chosen by the moderators.

How do I join a private community?

In private communities, the button shows Request to join. After you send it, the request stays pending until the moderators approve it. While the request is pending, the button shows Request pending. The decision belongs to each community’s moderators.

How do I create my own community?

The creation wizard helps you set the community’s name, description, classification and visibility. You can edit the details at any time afterwards. As the owner, you can add up to 15 rules, write a welcome message, enable the community guide and create up to 20 labels, including moderator-only labels. Premium subscribers get extra visual customization options, such as banner, colors and icon, in the communities they moderate.

Moderators can access the community dashboard: an inbox with member messages, queues for reports and join requests, and a history of every moderation action. You can approve or remove posts, mark them as spam, lock comments, highlight content, mute or ban members, manage the moderation team and set posting requirements. Moderators follow the Moderator Code of Conduct, with duties of fairness, confidentiality and care.

When a community is recruiting, you will see Help manage this community. Tap Apply, read what the community is looking for and explain why you want to moderate in at least 100 characters. Your application stays pending until the moderators respond. If approved, you receive the permissions defined by the team.

What are the essential community rules?

Treat everyone with respect, empathy and kindness. Insults, discrimination, harassment, spam and derogatory language are not tolerated. Help My Mind is a space for sharing experiences and does not replace appointments, psychotherapy or emergency care. Do not share your own or other people’s personal data, and do not promote services abusively. Each community may also have its own rules.
